What I am passionate about 

  • I started Highfield as an agency out of the desire to provide an experienced input into client work at Director level that I felt clients sometimes missed out on. I am passionate about helping our clients to translate data and content into a clear scientific story that engages the medical community, ultimately developing an ideal narrative to convey the science in the most compelling way.

Why I care?

  • I really care about people both within our clients and at Highfield– and support their growth within their roles. We have always aimed to build meaningful partnerships with our clients that stand the test of time. I believe it is important to recognise individual strengths and contributions in order to get the best out of people.

  • With over 30 years of experience in the industry beginning in medical writing before moving into client services and leadership roles, I have a passion for getting to the root of issues that clients may face and thinking of ways to develop solutions that include internal and external delivery programmes. Trusted as an integral client team member, I play an active role in facilitating and moderating meetings and programmes.

Making a difference

  • We build long-lasting relationships with clients. As clients grow or move roles, we move with them. Innovative ideas also come through our work with Thought Leaders. As we listen and understand the insights shared, we actively consider how these can be developed into effective solutions to make a difference in patients’ lives, and in the process develop great, long-term relationships with Thought Leaders too.

Amber Fensome

What I am passionate about 

  • I entered this industry as I really wanted to make a difference to people, to help people grow in their fields and explore their own passions. I am passionate about medical communications as I believe that people can make informed choices with the right information. I very much enjoy being involved in the client work we deliver.

Why I care?

  • As a team you can achieve so much. This is evident in our everyday work, with the skilled individuals we have at Highfield developing solutions and excellent client delivery. Happy people make for a fun and dynamic environment, fostering energy and ideas that in turn benefit our clients. Seeing team members develop is very rewarding.

  • I have nearly 30 years of experience in the industry. My career started in the pharmaceutical industry side of the business, which means I effectively understand the pressures that our clients face. Listening to and understanding their needs allows us to approach work in a seamless manner and help everyone thrive within their own roles.

  • Problem solving and thinking differently enable creative solutions and ideas. Understanding our clients’ objectives and strategies is key for us to produce innovative ideas that really do make a difference. What I am passionate about

Why I care?

  • Helping both clients and colleagues solve problems and exploring new ways of working to achieve goals are highly rewarding. Understanding that finance can appear intimidating and confusing for many, I aim to provide people with a better understanding to make it less daunting.

I help the business understand their financial position and reduce possible risks by ensuring compliance with regulations. Jessica Sampson

What I am passionate about 

  • I am passionate about translating sometimes complex scientific concepts and data into clear, concise, and meaningful outputs which enhance understanding and awareness, while considering the unique needs of the intended audience. I enjoy using data visualisation approaches to bring the scientific story to life, developing content that is easy to follow, and conveying key information in an impactful and memorable way.

Why I care?

  • When people understand the science, it empowers us all – from the clinician using their knowledge to help a patient understand their condition and treatment options, to the individual feeling more confident in talking to their doctor about their complaint and seeking treatment. I believe that getting scientific communication right means more people can live healthier, happier lives.

  • I have 10 years in the industry, working on both pre- and post-launch projects across a full spectrum of medical communication activities. Having worked at Highfield for my whole career, I am proud to have helped develop our graduate programme to grow our young writers through mentorship, formal and on-the-job training, and opportunities in projects that really make a difference. I enjoy helping our clients gain more impact from their projects by bringing new approaches and ideas to the table.

Always working in partnership with our clients, I am proud of our long-standing and close relationships that are built on trust and reliability. Within our teams, I strive to recognise the strengths of each individual and ensure that they are given the right opportunity at the right time, exposure to various projects, and hands-on training. By being flexible, dependable, and adaptable, we have been able to help our clients achieve their goals, no matter how challenging they may seem at first.

Our Community Focus

Our ethos compels us to be socially responsible, and from small beginnings we are building a programme that incorporates:

  • Environmental responsibility – from little things like recycling, through to reducing our energy consumption by using smart technology to deliver effective virtual meetings
  • Social responsibility – we have chosen two charities to support through fundraising and company events:
  • The OddBalls Foundation – raising global awareness of testicular cancer to aid early detection and diagnosis. They are active in schools, universities, and workplaces, delivering talks, reminding people to check their balls regularly, and working to remove any stigma and embarrassment about testicular cancer.
